....The Miami Beach City Commission and The Beautification
Committee of Miami Beach presented to UNIDAD the 2005 Beautification Award. The award is for the remarkable effort in
preserving the historic Coral Rock House and UNIDAD’s outstanding custodianship of this historic landmark.
....The original project involved getting private land, the relocation and restoration of the Coral Rock House, which at the time was facing immediate demolition to make room for a high-rise development.
....The renovation of the Coral Rock House project ended in the spring of 1999, after four years of leadership, hard work, community support, with funds from the Miami Beach Community Block Grant Program.
....Thousands of Miami Beach residents have received the services from the many programs offered by UNIDAD/MBHCC from this location.
The Coral Rock House has earned the reputation as being one of the most beautiful properties in Miami Beach and the heart of the Miami Beach Hispanic community.
....La Ciudad de Miami Beach y el Comité de Embellecimiento de Miami Beach entregaron a UNIDAD/MBHCC el “Premio al Embellecimiento de la Ciudad de Miami Beach 2005”. Este premio fue otorgado por el extraordinario esfuerzo en preservar el valor histórico de la Casa de Coral.
....El proyecto original consistía en conseguir un terreno propio, la relocalización y restauración del edificio, el cual estaba amenazado a ser demolido. El proyecto de renovación de la casa de Coral finalizó en la primavera de 1999, después de 4 años de liderazgo, trabajo arduo, el apoyo de la comunidad, y los fondos del Departamento de Desarrollo Comunitario de la Ciudad de Miami Beach.
....Miles de residentes de nuestra comunidad han recibido los beneficios de los diversos programas ofrecidos en esta localidad. La Casa de Coral se ha ganado la reputacion dde ser una de las construcciones mas bellas, ademas de ser el corazon de la comunidad hispana de Miami Beach.
